Our Competition Explained
'Isolation is boring...' thought our founder and educator Mr Darren Daly.
'We need something exciting for children to want to write,' he continued.
'I've got it! Let's make children authors of their own books.'
And here we are.
For the first time EVER, your child can enter our FREE competition and be one of 100 children chosen to feature in our annual published book. This is a book like no other: the children will choose the title, the illustrations will be from children of any age old enough to pick up some colours and most importantly we will read their wonderfully creative short stories and poems. No adults allowed - your ideas are nowhere near good enough. Sorry, but not really.
So kids (young adults I can hear some of you muttering) this is your mission and a chance to become one of the world's youngest ever published authors. Just close your eyes and imagine that. Excitied? We want you to visit the 'tips' section of our website for the greatest advice on how to win. Now, check out the tips, read the dates and rules and good luck!
From Wednesday 8th April our online submission form will appear. You will have until 5th May to submit your short stories and/or poems.
At 5pm (British Summer Time) the submission form will magically disappear (our IT team will take it down) forever... don't miss this date.
BOOKS SENT OUT
Anyone who has ordered the book will be sent their copy using our chosen delivery source.
Remember our book will NOT be available to purchase after this date - so pre-order to avoid missing out.
The Competition Key Rules
Only children (aged under 18) can enter this competition. Adults are however required to complete on behalf of their child, the online submission form.
Children are limited to ONE entry per year. This total includes both poems and stories - so you will need to work hard and choose to sumbit your best only.
Children MUST create original writing and links to other published work or copywrite material will result in their submission being dismissed.
This is a children's competition so you are free to share with anyone on any platform the contents of your final submission. As we want to encourage the sharing of creative writing, we will not insist on holding the rights to your work - rather we will seek permission to use it in the event it features in our published book.
There are NO limits to the amount of children an adult can submit for. If you're in a large family don't worry, just be clear to change the name of the author.
Under NO circumstances will late entries be considered.
At the discretion of our Team Leader we reserve the right to cancel/amend the competition and/or the prize offere
Other rules will appear at the discretion of our Team Leader.
